Part of the South African Mint’s African Range, this 5 oz gold high-relief proof coin captures a cheetah in the watchful opening stage of its hunt: “Survey”.

The reverse depicts the poised animal surveying its surroundings, while the obverse presents a cheetah bust. Both designs draw on sculptures by South African artist Dylan Lewis, bringing the animal’s form and character into the detail of the coin.
